Rain on Your Wedding Day?!? Fear Not!

Ella & Andy

Ella & Andy embracing the rain and trusting the process… while they have a moment.

Hey Hey!

Are you dreading rain on your Wedding Day? Are you getting married in our beautiful UK with its unpredictable climate? Don't let the fear of rain on your wedding day spoil either your day or your excitement on the run up to the day and let me tell you why...

I had the pleasure of photographing Ella and Andy's small, intimate wedding at Inglewood Manor and it was the perfect way to kick start the wedding season for me. The ceremony itself was absolutely beautiful, set against the backdrop of the picturesque pond and gardens. The Cheshire registrars did a wonderful job of making it personal and special, with heartfelt readings that really captured Ella and Andy's love story.

After the ceremony, we had the chance to capture some amazing group shots on the grand staircase, and then I was able to sneak away with Ella and Andy for some truly magical couple photos. Despite the constant rain (typical March weather!), we created some gorgeous indoor moments, utilising the exclusivity of the venue - we even turned it into an opportunity for some stunning nighttime shots at the back of the manor.

Things we did to help the wedding flow despite the rain:

- utilised indoor spaces for relaxing and drinks in-between 'formal' parts of the day

- Switched some timings to coincide with when there was less rain - the rain literally didn't stop once!

- I scouted the venue for indoor spots we could use to create magical couple photos for Ella & Andy

- Used my lovely ivory Brolly!

One of the things I love most about being a Cheshire wedding photographer is getting to capture real, authentic moments like these. Ella and Andy's wedding was all about doing things their way and celebrating their love in a way that felt true to who they are as a couple. From the quiet corners inside the manor to the light and airy doorway shots, every moment felt genuine and special.

I can't wait to see what the rest of the wedding season has in store, but one thing's for sure - capturing moments like Ella and Andy's has reminded me why I love what I do so much. Here's to more love stories, more real moments, and more incredible weddings ahead.

Also, don't forget the old fable that rain on your wedding day makes the marriage stronger... you can ask me to elaborate!

Love & Light
