Loch Lomond Micro-Wedding
Picture this… on the banks of Loch Lomond, the sun is shining down, an elite group of your family and friends have gathered from across the world, tourists stop to cheer and clap as you step out of the historic church and into the sunlight as husband and wife for the first time.
F&D did just this and it was everything and more.
Marrying on the 4th July, a nod to D’s American roots, at the historic Luss Parish Church, literally on the shores of Loch Lomond in Scotland. The weather wasn’t completely on our side, as is the norm in Scotland, with scattering of rain and a couple of downpours so we worked quickly to create real moments for the F&D to connect and have the moments that create the photos.
Staying just up the road at Lomond Castle (gorgeous self-catering apartments and houses that overlook the loch) F and her family spent the morning relaxing while getting ready, with just a maid of honour there wasn’t a ridiculously early start and lots of people to think about - instead it was just F and her nearest. When we arrived to capture the last moments of prep there was laughter, love and details.
A traditional Scottish church wedding it was filled with beautiful readings that were of meaning to the couple, the focus on the union - just as it should be.
As F&D said yes to forever, the sun started to shine and lit them in the church, sealing the deal with a ‘dip kiss’ down the aisle. The sun stayed shining for their ‘formal’ group photos (never that formal with me I’ll be honest) and we made our way to the loch to start the couples pics - the sun stayed for all of 5 minutes before the heavens well and truly opened up!
F&D spent time together, enjoying the moment, whilst we took some photos and video…. joined by quite an audience of Italian tourists but it all made it the more special, where else would this happen?!
An intimate dinner with a beautiful cake finished their day off nicely, conversations with loved ones they rarely get to see over a glass of Iron Bru.
F&D spent a while choosing their suppliers, and we was all fabulous (if I say so myself!) so here’s who they used if you want to take a look:
